Morning
First things first, we start with a land-based lesson. After heading down to
the beach, we cover all aspects of safety and first-time kite handling. This
lesson usually lasts about 3 hours, and in this time students will learn kite
flying and all features of the wind window. Once we're confident of the
students' competency, we break for lunch and then head for the water.
Afternoon
The afternoon's water-based lesson starts with teaching the principles of
re-launching the kite in water, and the basic techniques of body dragging. We then
embark on a downwind long-distance body drag in a clear, quiet area of the lagoon
where the students have ample time to master and enjoy the full power of the kite
for the first time.
